Our Pies

We use Midwestern family recipes handed down generation to generation. Careful attention is paid to choosing fruit that is in season and at the peak of ripeness. Using canned fruit…never. The crust…let’s discuss. The ingredients may be simple but the process is, well, complicated and personal. Shortening vs. butter… or a combination of the two, incorporating lard (that in my opinion has gotten a bad rap, but I still can’t bring myself to try), or a crust recipe which involves cream cheese? Countless recipes have been tested and what is confirmed, Mom’s crust is best, and not to be messed with. Period!

“Turns out, I have a secret pie dealer in Sausalito. We went into this store @karl_the_store, the owner said “my wife makes pies”. We called and asked if they could be made vegan. Not only did she make them vegan, her pies are ART! They should be in a museum, not my stomach. But oh well.”

Chicken Pot Pie

“My daughter-in-law ordered your pie for our “Day after Christmas” celebration. I’m not certain I could put into words the magic you infused into our day! Your pies...

“My husband wanted pie for his birthday this year on New Year’s Eve and you would have thought I was searching for the holy grail. I couldn’t find pie anywhere. When we stopped at Equator to get coffee you can imagine how excited I was to see the PIE sign in the window of your store. Your husband later explained the whole story which in turn made for a great story for us. When we got the pie home we said this is ether going to be the best pie on earth or the worst. It was indeed the best pie we have ever had!”
